NFL pick em

The NFL football season hasn't even came to an end yet, and the college season wrapped up last week. Yet already football fans are looking ahead to April 25th and 26th for the NFL draft, one of the most watched and analyzed events in sports. Fans tune in to see what players their favorite team will pick. They watch to see where players they watched in college and even high school end up and begin their professional careers.

Thursday this last week was the deadline for college underclassman to declare their NFL draft eligibility. This meaning that college players at least 3 years graduated from high school can opt to leave school early and be drafted by a team. It was interesting this year to see how players based their decision to stay or go on how other players in the same position made their decisions. For instance Jr quarterback from Texas Colt McCoy decided to come back for his senior season, as did Florida Jr Tim Tebow and Oklahoma red shirt SO Sam Bradford. So after hearing the news on all these quarterback stars USC Jr. Mark Sanchez decided to declare for the draft, even during criticism for being only a one year starter, without the competition from these other players his decision was easy. It promises to be an interesting run, stay tuned.

  1. I have never watched the NFL draft because I haven't really watched college football too much. I like to leave it up to the Packers to pick the best guys, but that doesn't always happen. My dad reads the newspaper to find out who gets fired or hired and then tells me about it. I like to watch the pre-season games though to see if I can spot a guy who will do well. Hopefully the Packers can do better next year.
